Headlights Theater Mission

Our mission is to transform bleak parking lots into magical landscapes and provide a live performance experience while maintaining appropriate mitigation practices through social distancing to create a safe, yet connected, concert filled with music and dance. Our goal is to expand and uplift our intimate South Dakota arts community while educating, entertaining, inspiring, and protecting our general public.

MEET THE HEADLIGHTS TEAM

MEET THE HEADLIGHTS DANCERS

The Headlights Theater team is a diverse group of artists that come together to creating accessible art events that accurately depict and uplift the heart of Sioux Falls while having strong representation for all demographics. It's very important that when you attend a Headlights performance that everyone feels seen, supported and represented. We accomplish this by ensuring we have a diverse administrative and artistic team that not only uplift their voices, but help us bring everyone together on an equal playing field.

Headlights History

During Headlights' first season in the summer of 2020, they hosted five pop- up/drive-in performances, giving paid performance opportunities to over 50 local artists while bringing hundreds in the community together. During the company's second season, they curated four programs, two shows each with all eight performances in different locations throughout the Sioux Falls area. They gave paid performance opportunities to 17 local musicians, flew in eight professional dancers from LA and NYC and worked with ten local photographers and one local streetwear clothing brand. They also hosted four Headlights residencies for young aspiring dancers in our community, reaching over 50 dancers in the South Dakota area.

KEEP THE HEADLIGHTS ON.
